The Village of Plainfield is seeking to hire a full time Accounting Assistant. This position is responsible for administrative, fiscal, and clerical work in the Village’s Management Services Department. Work involves bookkeeping functions, calculating, verifying, posting, and balancing a variety of financial transactions for various aspects of the Village’s accounting system, and performance of general office support activities. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Accounting Services Supervisor.
Required: Associate degree in accounting, business, or other related fields of study or the knowledge equivalent of a two-year degree. Four (4) years of increasingly responsible related experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Intermediate level computer software proficiency and significant experience in a computerized bookkeeping or accounting environment.

The hourly range for this non-exempt position is $30.02 – $40.72 per hour, depending on qualifications and experiences. Anticipated starting salary is from the minimum to the middle of the range.
