The Village of Plainfield is looking for qualified applicants to fill a full-time Equipment Operator position.   Under the general supervision of the Crew Leader or Superintendent, this position performs work to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Public Works equipment and vehicles to maintain the various Village systems and infrastructures.  Other labor-intensive duties may be assigned.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three years’ experience in a Public Works related environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must possess and maintain a Class "B" CDL Illinois State driver’s license.  Class “A” preferred but not required at time of hire.  Please review the full job description for more details.  If you do not meet all requirements, you may be considered for our Public Works Laborer level.
