8/21/26 Update: The intersection improvements to Plainfield/Naperville Road and 127th Street (Reagan Boulevard) are now scheduled to begin September 8. The initial work will consist of grading and construction of temporary pavement along the west side of Naperville-Plainfield Road. Motorists are encouraged to travel with caution and allow extra time to navigate the work zone. Once the temporary pavement is in place, a posted detour route will be needed to allow work on the first stage of the project which includes the reconstruction of Reagan Boulevard and east side/northbound Plainfield/Naperville Road. This first stage of the project is scheduled to be completed this year with the remainder of the project completed in 2027. The project, once complete, will provide a new traffic signal, dedicated left turn lanes at all legs of the intersection, and improved drainage and geometry within the project limits. The project is a cooperative effort which involves the Villages of Plainfield and Bolingbrook, as well as the Will County Division of Transportation.

7/10/26 Update: The 127th Street and Naperville Road intersection improvement project is scheduled to complete utility relocation work this month. The intersection roadway work is scheduled begin in August. Construction signage and pre-construction activities will begin shortly. Once construction begins, traffic heading east on 127th Street/Reagan Blvd will be detoured to 119th Street to allow for the 127th Street /Reagan Blvd and east half of Naperville Road to be constructed. More details will be provided once the schedule for the detour is known. We encourage motorists to proceed through the work zone area with caution.
1/16/26 Update: Utility relocation work continues for the intersection project at 127th Street and Plainfield/Naperville Road. Once ComEd finishes their work, the other utilities will complete their work. The intersection reconstruction work is scheduled to begin in the spring and last the entire construction season. The signal should be in operation before the end of the year.
